M Brown 104sc 83TG%

Glad this guy gets another chance.

I always had a soft spot for him when he was at the Cats, always gave it his all but just couldn't break into the team.

I wouldn't read into the Essendon vs Carlton game at all, Carlton allowed Essendon to have 140 more possessions, 120 more uncontested possessions.

Sam Collins scored 63 off 39% gametime, Gore 39 off 45%, Blakely 65 off 76%... Who did I miss that's worth a mention?

Agree with Matt. I still think Hartley is 60 avg player despite scoring a ton. Next to no pressure in that game, with plenty of easy intercept marks and chip kicks in the backline. M.Brown probably a better scoring option than Hartley as he does more around the ground, but same applies to him. He's probably more a 65-70 option.

60's not too bad to be a slow burn on the bench if no one else sticks their hand up

I think many teams will start at least two rookies on field in defence in if they are only 65-70 so I don't see even those types of scores as a disadvantage early.

Many teams are going mid heavy so could be 3-4 rookies in the back line which is a worry

From the news paper...

Meanwhile, No. 2 draft selection Christian Petracca is highly unlikely to make his AFL debut in Round 1 after breaking his toe during the Christmas holiday period.

The highly rated teenager did not play at all in 2015 after requiring a knee reconstruction.

“He hasn’t played a game of footy in over 12 months … so he’s got another three weeks before he’s in contention to play in a practice match,” Jones said.

“I think he’d probably be available early in the season, depending on his form, but round one might be a stretch.”

Thats great news for fantasy owners, will be a nice downgrade target early

Yeah, I don't disagree that 60s are startable in the backs but my main point was not to get carried away with hartley's high scores. He's definitely startable able but probably will be up and down depending on the strength of the opposition. Should score 70+ in the first two against GC and MEL. His intercept marking will be a great assest for his scoring

I've got to remember to not get to sucked into the GT% for the young lads, most unlikely to play more than 60%

Hewett one to watch this week from Sydney, getting a regular game in the super deep Sydney midfield is my worry for him, but if he does then I like him. Lots of touches in the NEAFL and did well 1st NAB, been named again in 2nd NAB in a pretty strong side

Plenty missing from Swans best 22 in R1.

Macca, McGlynn, Reid, Rohan out and Shaw, Jetta and Goodes need to be replaced. Will Heeney play?

Looks selfish & not afraid to give his teammates a spray, but can definitely play, new Goddard maybe haha.

We'll if he can be a SC must have in a few years I'll be happy with that.
And a few of those sprays were warranted, the disposals today were at times disgraceful.

Remember, it was virtually a Doggies 2nds out there today.
Well, almost. They were missing at least 13 first-choice players.
So any conclusions pretty suspect.

No conclusions at all, just stating that he went well, didn't look out of place that's all.
As for the Dogs 2nds, try barracking for a team that generally needs another 16 players every week for 1st team! lol (just give me a little joy)
