Looking at Mackie this week as a cheaper potential backline premium. looks to have bottomed out at ~$434k (priced to average ~80), posted 100s in his 2 previous games, average impacted by green vest in his 1st game back after injury in week 8. Still "only" 30 and has been pretty durable prior to this year. Has never been super elite but averaged 86/87 over previous 2 seasons and I can see him averaging 85-90 from here on in..

But also around his price range:
- Rance ($428k, avg 94)
- Docherty ($436k, avg 91)
- McGovern ($445k, avg 93)
- Enright ($451k, avg 92)

Also T.McDonald a bit higher up ($490k, 105 avg) - but averaging only 80 in his last 3...

Pittard lower down ($381k, 85 avg) - but some ugly scores in there..

Who are you guys looking at?

I've got cold feet on all those mentioned. Haven't got a couple of the high priced ones I probably should have (Shaw & Hodge). Got to concentrate on getting them I think.

PS. Already have Doc. Happy enough but wouldn't be falling over myself to bring him in if I didn't have him.

Thanks for your thoughts gents. Have somehow managed to talk myself into Shaun Higgins instead - which means (based on my chequered history with him) he'll do a knee 5mins into the 1st quarter. Good luck!

Considered Yeo of West coast.
High ceiling and been ok so far for me.
I was really keen on Yeo this week as I needed another rd 13 premium down back. Ended up about 8k short so had to take McDonald instead.

I brought Yeo in last week. Also considered McGovern who I think will be reliable.

Malceski ($440k with a 148 b/e) is starting as the sub today against Freo. If he starts to get back in some form I'd think he'd be a no-brainer as he'll be very cheap.

Brodie Smith looks a must-have in a couple of weeks, along with Malceski. It'll be boring because everyone will probably pick them up though

I traded in Mcgoven last week was happy with his 80 last week and will cop 45 from 6 touches & couple marks today just hope he's all right for next week, has that great ability to go big from limted involvement.

HIbberd should be around 435k after his bye, might work out how I can get him in... only reason I didn't bring him in before was because he had the round 12 bye

I love that so many have traded him out. Unless he gets injured or Weller is injured and Newnes takes his role for the season then he's not going anywhere. Very comfortable with him at D6 after the byes.

While Newnes may not be the player we were expecting at the start of the season, if he can avg 90 for the remainder of the season, he can happily sit at D6 for me.

Anyone having thoughts of keeping Oxley?

With a BE of 5 certainly has more money to make and scoring wise he's fine worry is that he throws in a very low score every now and then, I reckon if you can cover him this week there's no reason not to ride him for awhile longer except Collingwood have a rough couple games coming up.

Ideally my plan is to upgrade McIntosh to a fallen premo for a tad over 100k and keep Oxley at d7. Loopholing between him and Newnes every week could get messy but could also pay off in a big way.

I'd love to be able to do this with Oxley, I need the money elsewhere though. If you can dodge his bad games and get the big ones it'll pay off big time.
