Funny, I traded Hibberd out for Smith + 100k. Averaged less than Saad over first 11 rounds. Not sure why everyone's so bullish on him

Smith or Hibberd?
Because if you're talking about Hibberd people are bullish because he has averaged 91 and 95 the last 2 years and he's shown a bit of that the last couple of weeks

last 4 weeks he's averaged 94.5

... for a season average of 81.

Averaging 86 over the last 3 weeks. Cracked 100 twice in 11. 100, and the 116 four weeks ago. Hardly evidence of an upswing.

If your going by that reasoning then Smith should be the last person you'd bring in, personally I reckon with Essendon's draw opening up like it does after the Hawthorn game and the 3-4 best 22 players coming back the games will really open up for him to be more attacking and creative & it doesn't take much to turn 70-80 into 90-100.

Smith's scoring injury affected. No doubt Hibberd could start scoring better. After half a season in my side averaging 81 the only way is up but I decided to trade him for Smith, grab the 100k, take one less donut in round 12, and watch him in my Crows for half a season. I expect Smith to score at least as well as Hibberd. I think Smith has a couple of big games in him but not convinced Hibberd has the same ceiling. Good luck with him tho

Look, I can see why he's being considered given his previous scoring history of 94-95 (reason I picked him from the start, hoping for 100ppg). He's been meh over half a season and I'm just pointing out there's no evidence for a turnaround in form yet. I still don't think he's a bad pick given lack of better options but for me, $$ was better used elsewhere

I'm probably in the same boat with Kolo and Newnes as you were with Hibbard so I understadnd where you are coming from, how boring would it be if we all played the game the same

I was going to do the smith thing that all the cool kids seem to be doing but have decided macintosh to edwards is a better proposition, obviously pending team selection.
Grab the cash, Edwards scored a very good 75 odd in a team that had its pants pulled down and it was interstate, in his first game.
Andrew walker could raise his head as an alternative if he can put something together over the next few weeks with a 15 this weekend.

Other options:
Macdonald getting cheap after the bye
Docherty keeps on going
Picken at 513 seems reasonable
Thurlow cheap and has mpp

These are the guys I dont have and looking at them in this order
1. Picken - b/e and SOS
2. The Doc - blues find form, he is only 430k and he plays this week
3. Thurlow - think has high ceiling from watching plus mpp
4. Macdonald - Since the pies game (I could get 100+ like he did against the saints, so not counting it) and has the bye and b/e will be huge i expect.
