Ah, but I think Sheridan is different.
First, he's a kid and "grew up" in the Lyon system.
Second, he appears to be following the same trajectory as Lachie Neale. A few years to get established then a "break-out" year, 2014 for Neale and 2015 for Sheridan, where they get progressively better with a good end to the year.
Third, Sheridan's DE has become pretty good. NAB 1: 78.3%, NAB 2: 89.3%. The radio commentary today said that the other players were looking to get the ball in Sheridan's hands all the time.
Still, no Bennell and Mundy on the team today so who knows what his role will be next game?
At his price I'm willing to take the chance.
I know that at the Saints Lyon was always looking for a good outside-type who could kick and could never find enough e.g Andrew Lovett, Brett Peake. [We did have some but not enough for Ross.]
