Sir Mr Enright with 11 kicks and 3 handballs at 100% DE. Will he make his way into our teams?
All this talk of Bartel, he seems to be the forgotten one. And yes I did note his stats a little better as a player of his SC stature deserves our respect.
Surely he gets rested... I couldn't see him playing more than 20 games, maybe even 18. With a perceived "soft draw", they will want to make sure the older guys down back (inc. Bartel and Mackie) are fresh.

Bartel will also be one that is rested and he is top of the hit list. So really thinking that if Enright strings a few more like that together he may be a real POD down back, yes a POD I can't believe I just said that either! ha ha ha

Definitely worth considering though! He went on a good run towards the end of last year from memory, had 3 or 4 games in a row over 100. And he doesn't throw in the 50 scores like a lot of other backs.

Yep spot on in his last 9 matches he scored - 73,95,79,84,103,116,107,73,122.
Highest score for the year 142 and averaged 95 for the year.
I can see more value in Enright than i do in someone like Laird, Houli, Rance or McDonald (damn that hurt).
If he does continue to play well my youth policy this year maybe in doubt.

Those figures put up a pretty compelling case for any defender really. I had settled on Bartel too! Time to put some more thought in I think.

If there is any more convincing you need Steve, he has only missed a handful of games since the start of time.
Since 2006 here are his total games (excl finals) 22, 21, 22, 22, 21, 20, 21, 21, 20, 21.
I rest my case.

Just because I'm up late (hey it's Friday!). Can I just say Aish was shit tonight.
Had 9 dis to 1/4 time finished with 15. 6k, 9h at 73%DE 2m 1t. Yawn!

For me its less about where a particular player ranks in terms of his fellow line but rather the difference in point output vs price.

Laird is ranked 8th for current Backs based on last year with an ave of 93.81 whilst Docherty is ranked 16th with 87.68 a 6.13 pt difference.

Thus the question becomes more like if I can save 50K on player X for a 5ppg loss can I use that 50K to make more than a 5ppg gain in another slot?

..... Or you could pick both of them!!!

I didn't see the game (not on free to air in Brisbane), but his stats are a big worry. Have him at D5. Hoping another rookie shows up or there may have to be a restructure.

Yeah, I agree. I had him in 2014 (yes I remember back the far), I think he missed a game or two at the end of that season, so that (stupidly) scared me off last year. His consistency for number of games, along with his solid numbers put up a very good case, considering the other premos.

I'd be prepared to start both he and Bartel. I doubt they'd be missing in the same week unless injured. If they played 20 games each though, you'd have to play rookies in their place. It comes down to whether or not we have the likes of Saad, McIntosh or (forgetting Pies Def from 2015) running around this season though.

More risks, so something else to ponder, I love it !!!

Playing back a fair bit i wouldn't write him off completely no defenders scored well.

would have been nice if Birchell could have just knocked out 80pts today just for that little bit of confidence.

I'm still liking Docherty for a POD in the backline.
Team got a towelling today and only played roughly 40% of the match still had stats of: 4k, 2h, 2 of those contested 100% DE 2t and 3 rebound 50's.
I'll be watching him very closely in the next NAB match, he could well be the one that fly's under the radar.

So Brown is a lock now more than ever before, definitely has a spot on my backline bench.
14k, 5h, 6 contested at 84% DE, 8m 3 rebound 50's, 2 inside 50's with 83% TOG. He has to be the must have for cash surely.

He would want to show something next game after 2 lacklustre NAB games.

I wouldn't say today was to lacklustre, didn't get a run until the into the 3rd, team was coping a flogging so I'm reasonably happy with his stats.
But like I said i'll be watching the next one closely.

Hope Ross takes Sheridan off at the half. Had him in my team as a mid-price POD from the start and prefer to keep it that way.
