Well, that was interesting. Apologies to @Fitzroy Guerrilla for my post on Van Avermaet. I never expected him to get in a break-away. Personally, didn't do too bad from the stage. Even went up a few positions thanks to Martin and Alaphilippe. The leagues were updated yesterday so they now show...

@Prospector What a shame. So, who is Lynx tm?
  3. Rupert

    Tour de France

Well, having just brought in Martin and Alaphilippe I hope someone wants to chase a breakaway.

    Tour de France

Yes. If Valverde goes for it today it means that Movistar virtually get a day off: Movistar don't have to chase a break down the other GC teams have to chase because although Valverde has said he is supporting Quintana he is enough of a threat to have to be countered

@Fitzroy Guerrilla No withdrawals - as yet - even with the crashes. Best source in the official web-site: http://www.letour.com/le-tour/2016/us/withdrawals.html Van Avermaet: I wouldn't bring him in as I think he less likely to win than others at his price of 7.0m: Alaphilippe, Dan Martin and...

Yep, the same one as you - the TT on stage 18.

@doddy2731 I'm ranked just behind @Grater and just ahead of you - 1026 points and 124th. Really tight around the 1025 -1030 mark, isn't it? Quite happy with that as I have enough transfers left to repeat the stage 2 tactic: 2 sprinters out for 2 x stage 5 favourites, then reverse the trades for...

Serious problems. My points have gone up for no obvious reason. The Alpecin ads with Kittel and Degenkolb were just weird.

Have you noticed the Fortuneo bike? The handle-bars make it look racey and I suppose it helps with aerodynamics.

I did wonder. Especially after your previous comment: "SBS could go straight to coverage when they air it, but they just choose to have Gabriele Gate and then a wank fest"

Can I assume no-one else can get the site to update the team/league rankings? The RCUK site doesn't have these problems. I've scored less in the RCUK comp but I'm ranked higher 123 v 167. Top teams have scored about the same in both: 1,520-odd.

    Tour de France

@Grater Did you really only start watching because of Gabriel Gate or is @Fitzroy Guerrilla kidding? I started watching because of the scenery. When we first got coverage here in Oz - sometime in the 1990's? - I watched mainly for the scenery. Although I'm a cyclist I wasn't that interested in...

I hope the CyclingQuotes preview is the correct one as I have all of their favourites and only a few of the CSN predictions and I don't want to trade today.

If anyone wants to watch live coverage before SBS starts to show the race, there is this Eurosport feed: http://www.shadow-net.org/channels/British-Eurosport.html I don't know how much earlier they started - probably not by much. If you have Foxtel you probably have this anyway. The video feed...

It is live from when they start showing it, I think, but we almost never get the full race. I have asked SBS to broadcast the whole thing but for some reason they won't. What is periscope and how can I get it?

    Tour de France

On my laptop it has updated my points and ranking but not the leagues or team rankings. The RCUK site only updated the latter about an hour ago. As the site is being run from the UK maybe they have a priority list for updating and we in Oz aren't near the top? Brought back Cav and Kittel. A bit...

And Sagan did what Sagan does. Porte very unlucky.

    Tour de France

Agreed. Tonight is perfect for Sagan. I really like him. Apart from the pure mountain stages he's always a good chance - probably the best all-round cyclist - and he always puts himself in the mix, not relying on others to do the work for him. Yesterday was a good example: he's not got the pure...

Amen, Grater. It is I. No team points in the TT but the odds that anyone but the main GC contenders finish top 5 are pretty slim. And we should already have those in our teams. Plus, there is no chance of a break-away making it to the finish and taking the points from the GC guys. [This happened...
