Mountain stages seem to come in quite a bit earlier this year with some Category 1 and HC climbs featuring earlier in the piece.

Yep. Stages 10,11,12 all mtn top finishes. Stage 13, 14, 16 classic break-away or all-rounder stages but if GC close then GC favourites. Then Stages 17, 18, 19, 20 all mtn stages. Stage 15 is the only sprinters stage until the Champs in the last stage.

Does anyone remember the time a few years ago (2009, maybe?) when some sort of union strike was taking place and the striking workers were threatening to block the route of the tour on one course? I think there was only about 20min in it in the end, by the time someone negotiated with the strikers to call it off.

I hope something like that happens again.

Yeah, I remember. I think it was agricultural workers protesting. I think.

Well done, doddy.
Didn't do too bad myself with 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 10th and 16th.
P.S. I am starting to agree.

Yeah, the riders who are the best overall, aiming to win the whole sheabang: Froome, Contador, Nibali, and Quintana especially.

I just had a look and I don't think you've done too bad:
Froome, Rodriguez and Valverde all GC contendors;
Dan Martin and Gallopin for next few stages but also GC, if not favourites
rest cheapies
For what my opinion is worth.

Not sure when I'll make trades. Might make a couple today.

Don't know who scores what in the team time trial.

Might as well wait until before the Tuesday stage to trade because tonight should favour sprinters (or a breakaway) and then there is the team time trial for which there are fewer points and then a day off. You'd hate to trade someone in tonight who cops an injury when there are not many points up for grabs until Tuesday.

Mind you I brought Froome in for Cancellara to get the extra points for retaining yellow.

It goes through the scoring in the rules section.

First place gets 30 points in Cat 1 stages, 20 in Cat 2 and 12 in TTT, just as an example.

I just brought in Rodriguez, Contador and Froome. Hope to pick up some points tonight.
