I had to trade out Boasson-Hagen to have enough $$$ for a team. Brought in Navardauskas as a risk/reward type scenario.
So my changes were;
Quickstep to Lotto Soudal
Martin to Matthews
Barta to Bennett
Dumoulin to Demare
Cancellara to Degenkolb
Malori to Kristoff
Boasson-Hagen to Navardauskas
Kept in Kelderman for tomorrow's stage as he should top 10, but will trade him out after the cobbled stage if Dennis is still in yellow. If not will trade out Dennis and keep Kelderman in long term. Either way I have 2 million in the bank so I can trade out Dennis/Kelderman for whoever I want.
I just noticed that Adam Hansen is still in the Tour. I thought he'd been withdrawn after his crash last week.
If you didn't know, Hansen is an Aussie who has ridden in 11 consecutive Grand Tours. This Tour will be his 12th
and if he finishes it he will be the equal record-holder for consecutive GTs.
An incredible feat.
Cheapest/best option available. I was going to go for Katusha, as they would score me more than Lotto, but I needed that 2mil in case a rider pulls out. With Kwiatkowski's form iffy, only today, Wednesday and Friday will Cavendish be a clear favourite to score for them so it's potentially a mistake for anyone having Ettix as their team for that price. Whereas Lotto have more options on the other stages.
I was a little happier after this stage with, Cavendish, Martin, Sagan, Avermaet, Froome all scoring some points. Thanks to FG and his idea of looking at the odds on the stages to get an idea of form, due to my lack of knowledge .
It sucks having this stage today because you can't really trade for it without screwing up your team for the rest of the week. So not many people will score well on this stage as you can't bring in the riders that will feature like Albasini, Valverde, D Martin, Arredondo, Mollema, Uran etc because if you do, then you won't be scoring much on stages 4-8.
I want to score something today other than the jersey wearers so re-traded in Dumoulin as my last trade for the week as he should get yellow tonight. He'll most likely lose it tomorrow, but I can sacrifice one spot in the team for the rest of the week.
