Back in 2010 in my first year playing, I nailed a Top 20 spot overall at the end of the comp after having been in the Top 10 on and off. They had a cash prize back then, sponsored by Rabobank, for something crazy - might have been 20k. Would have been funny if I'd won it.

I figure I'll be run down on this once the mountain stages come in and people with bonus stages make huge gains. Happy to be Top 10 though!

The site still hasn't uploaded properly and it's now useless on the mobile site (after initially having been very good).

Although the "Top 20 Teams" list is still not updated, you can click on the teams in it from where they were after the first stage and many of them have gone backwards in ranking after the second. I've done alright to actually go up a spot, then!

I'm only using the desktop now so 2000 but seems to work ok.

On my laptop it has updated my points and ranking but not the leagues or team rankings. The RCUK site only updated the latter about an hour ago.
As the site is being run from the UK maybe they have a priority list for updating and we in Oz aren't near the top?

Brought back Cav and Kittel. A bit hesitant about Cav. He's been training for the track and shouldn't/doesn't have the the endurance the others have. Tonight's stage is quite long and will maybe test him. But hard to leave Cav out.

It is live from when they start showing it, I think, but we almost never get the full race. I have asked SBS to broadcast the whole thing but for some reason they won't.

What is periscope and how can I get it?

It's the organiser that decides TV coverage. SBS can only show it when the organiser tells them to. It's the same for every other country in the world. Live pictures will come at the same time for everyone when the organiser allows it. There's only 6 or so stages that will be shown in its entire duration.

Don't forget you can also use the SBS Tour Tracker app for watching. Same coverage as on TV but handy if you want to watch from a device.

If anyone wants to watch live coverage before SBS starts to show the race, there is this Eurosport feed:
http://www.shadow-net.org/channels/British-Eurosport.html

I don't know how much earlier they started - probably not by much. If you have Foxtel you probably have this anyway.
The video feed is different to SBS and the commentary is by Sean Kelly.

LATER:
I was wrong. The video feed is just delayed a minutes or two.

It probably started at 10pm when SBS started their 30 minute talk fest.

Edit yeah, it did start at 10pm.

SBS could go straight to coverage when they air it, but they just choose to have Gabriele Gate and then a wank fest between each other.

When SBS coverage starts that's when other broadcasters will be showing the race. Some won't have a half hour lead in. Some might have 5 minutes and then go to coverage.

Mobile site seems to be back up but the scores aren't properly updated yet. I think I am still in 6th place.

1085, ranked 183 with a bonus to stage to come. I think everyone above me has used their bonus stage. If I used mine on stage 1 I would be in the lead.

I have 2 trades left so I'm going to lose some points on Wednesday's stage, but shouldn't be too bad. Providing Stuyven holds the KOM jersey after that stage, it would be good. I burnt a trade to get him hoping he holds it till the end of the week so I'm guaranteed 5 points a day for retaining a jersey.

If I don't lose much ground on Wednesday then I am in a good position to pounce.

I haven't made a trade yet (I'm away in Mildura and only have my phone) but will tonight.

I hope the CyclingQuotes preview is the correct one as I have all of their favourites and only a few of the CSN predictions and I don't want to trade today.

You are doing extremely well for someone who's initial interest in watching TDF was because of the Gabriel Gate segment at the beginning of the telecast!

@Grater
Did you really only start watching because of Gabriel Gate or is @Fitzroy Guerrilla kidding?
I started watching because of the scenery. When we first got coverage here in Oz - sometime in the 1990's? - I watched mainly for the scenery. Although I'm a cyclist I wasn't that interested in bike racing. Then I got hooked. Then I got Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and all-day bike races are great for CFS.

Let's hope today's stage is a bit different to yesterday's.
