Found this article on NAB 1 where both Nicholls and Currie played:
http://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au...s/news-story/e47936bf48df685fbb48f1d69c202de0

In regards to the rucks, Eade says “Tom, I thought, gave us a bit more impetus after starting slowly, like a lot of us, but I thought his work after quarter-time was pretty good.”
Thanks mate, that was rucking against Archie Smith though so I'm hoping both Currie and Nicholls play against Jacobs on the weekend

Does anybody think Currie could genuinely take #1 ruck duties from Nicholls? When Z.Smith wasn't playing Nicholls still didn't get THAT many hitouts, mostly low 20s, Currie on the other hand is a more mature ruck playing under Goldy and is actually bloody good at what he does... I'll be watching the last NAB closely, I think for 160k Currie could genuinely be a rookie whom we need his scores on field to be taking advantage of his value. Especially if mid rookies are thin
Not a chance of Currie taking the #1 spot off Nicholls. Nicholls is a damn good ruckman and can score well as solo ruck. Only need to go back to some of his 2013 games. He'll easily average 100 as the #1 ruck

The real questions are will Nicholls remain injury-free and who will GC use as a 2nd ruck? Will Day or Wright be used as 2nd ruck? Will they play Currie as a 2nd ruckman? I suspect given Currie and Nicholls are both of limited usefulness outside of the ruck, they'll probably go with Nicholls 80-90% and Day providing a rest occasionally. Currie might only be a backup option.

I think the best hope for Currie to be a good pick is if Nicholls is sidelined for a month or two at some stage because he's the clear next option. I think if Nicholls is fit there is no value in picking Currie at all, especially given he's not bargain basement and is not a swingman. Watch round 1 teams, but even if he's picked round1 be very cautious because there's a good chance he won't stay in the team....

Currie played for the Swans for a couple of years before being let go. He then played in the NEAFL for a canberra team in which he won BOG in a winning GF team. Then North picked him up and traded him to GC.

He has certainly travelled and will never be a R1 at GC but a nice cheap back up

Agree don't think Currie will see consistent games unless Nicholls goes down. He seems to be in that strange bracket where he can perform well in the 2's but can't quite match it at AFL level.

I think he will play as Nicholls back up but wont score as well. I dont have Currie in my team as a cash cow, i have him in my team to play in the byes if needed

Who will ruck with Lobbe?
Dixon when he's fit, otherwise the Hoff will have to pinch hit unless they want to bring Dougal whathisname in. He's a standalone #1 ruck... But he's also a spud.

A couple of Port supporters are talking up Howard but i havent heard of him till 2 weeks ago. There is no way he is in the best 22 even with 2 suspended players

After tinkering I've ditched goldy. Had goldy and gawn set and forget but flicked him for nic Nat. Extra cash means I can turn mills into Parker as my m5 don't like paying that much for a rookie. Just doesn't sit right with me. Hoping the differences between mills and Parkers scores will compensate in any losses for the nic Nat score over goldys

Sinclair is Sydney's No 1 Ruck. I have him in AF and DT but not in SC

Sinclair is Sydney's No 1 Ruck.

Says who?

Tippett has played more in the Ruck than Sinclair so far in the NAB cup.

They are both very similar, key forwards that can swing into the Ruck when required.

I expect them to play 50/50 Forward/Ruck. No clear #1.

I'd steer clear.

Leppa has said this morning that he expects West and Smith to help Stef out in the ruck with some key position pinch hitting. Given how well Stef performed even with Leuy still in the side last year, it's not concerning me that much. Worth noting though.

Horse on twitter today, dont know who will be 3rd ruck. MAybe nanas

@AFL looking like ruck will be shared between Tippett & Sinclair. What sort of split do you see? 50-50 or one more time fwd? #AskTheCoach

It'll depend upon who we play and what we need. If required we believe both can play forward at the same time.
