Thanks for the reply, I might do Balic to Daniel Lloyd and get a bit of cash generation going. Are people considering having Berry as a starter in their defence?

I will be starting Berry @D6 this week in place of Hampton whose going out for Myers and upgrading Marchbank to anyone I want. Well this is my plan until the teams drop and everything goes to poo!

Going one up, one down. Dunno who out of these blokes. Yeo (high price for risk), Greene, Ryder, or to a mid, Sloane, Murphy, Kelly, Martin, Treloar. Out of those Martin, Ryder and Yeo are most beneficial structure wise. Decisions Decisions.

If Mitch Wallis goes big again this week would it be crazy to get him in if you already have Dahlhaus and Macrae?

Just realised I have to trade to avoid a donut this week. I have Balic and Houston, thinking of trading Houston as his BE is 63 and avg is 67. Hoping Balic can still make a bit more cash but just dont know when he'll be back. Probably have to go early on Greenwood too so hopefully that doesnt burn me.

Same. One up, One down.

Hibberd & McInnes in for Marchbank & Hardwick.

So glad Sandi is out this week and not next.

Sandi > Ryder

I'm not trading to avoid a donut but I'm trading to avoid having to put Parsons on field which is the closest thing to...

I'm a bit more bullish on Parsons. Once that 19 drops out he'll be an OK cash generator. his 47 last week was a god send.

Interested to hear people's thoughts on the rucks and who you need post byes. Martin and Goldy are the 2 that stand out for me, but both bottomed out last week and look like they'll potentially be $600k post bye. Gawn is the other obvious one but still listed as 4-6 weeks plus has a 50 still in his cycle so don't think he will be an option for us.

The conundrum I have is my rucks are Sandi, Witts, Ryder and Nank. Ryder and Nank will be staying as F keepers +/- ruck backups. What I'd ideally like is the 2 above and a non-playing R3 to loophole and facilitate cover.

Here's the current top rucks:
Rank Player Team Price Average
1 Stefan Martin Brisbane $528,400 108.9
2 Shane Mumford GWS $526,600 106.3
3 Toby Nankervis Richmond $474,100 102.9
4 Ben McEvoy Hawthorn $524,700 99.7
5 Sam Jacobs Adelaide $540,200 98.9
6 Matthew Kreuzer Carlton $487,800 97.9
7 Patrick Ryder Port Adelaide $493,300 97.3
8 Todd Goldstein North Melbourne $519,300 96.2
9 Aaron Sandilands Injured Fremantle $464,700 95.7
10 Tom Bellchambers Essendon $305,100 94
11 Jarrod Witts Gold Coast $432,100 93.8
12 Brodie Grundy Collingwood $434,800 91.2
13 Zac Smith Geelong $407,100 90.5
14 Max Gawn Injured Melbourne $595,900 88.7

Questions are:
1) Will Witts average enough to be considered a keeper? Especially given he has had his bye.
2) Will Sandi average enough to be a keeper? Hasn't topped 110 yet which is a concern, but consistency has been good.

Really wish I had 3 trades this week to go Otten -> Hibberd, Balic -> Strnadica and Sandi -> Goldy.....

I think no is the answer for both, I personally went into this year knowing that Sandi and Witts were only going to be stepping stones.
Witts is only ever going to be a 90-95 type player, and Sandi is past it for huge scores now but also did his job and we all new it wasn't a matter of it but when he had a rest or was injured.
Out of all above listed and on current form I see Steph and Sauce 1 & 2, if Cox can stay out of the Pies Grundy will be there abouts but Goldy could be turning a corner so it really is hard to pick.
My current line of thinking is to put Nank in as my R2 for the remainder and if need be will swing forward if the opportunity shows that another Ruck is going to out average him.

alrighty then

I have enough Cash to do Taranto -> Ryder and Marchbank -> Hibberd
But with the Sandi news im thinking of doing Sandi -> Ryder and Marchbank -> Hibberd
I still need to get Eddy out of my team next week and im hoping Grennwood backs up his good score so I can plug him straight in.

I feel like I should be covering Eddy and building some cash this week but i dont like the options (maybe D.Lloyd) and the potential IN's look way too good

I'd hold Taranto for a few more weeks. Lowish BE still and has been stringing together a few reasonable scores now. Unless Eddy comes in for the next 4 then I feel he is a bit of a liability but it's so hard to trade him out knowing your getting next to no cash out of it. Too late to call it a correctional trade still???? haha

Treloar looks good for a straight swap from Fyfe, plays the Lions and seems to be coming out of his form slump.

Treloar $100k cheaper than the start of the season, averaging 99 4 scores over 100 2 of those 120+.

Fyfe still the same price very underwhelming, averaging 103 but his last 4 less than 100 and seem to show that his ceiling is not as high as it used to be.

If Mitch Wallis goes big again this week would it be crazy to get him in if you already have Dahlhaus and Macrae?
I wouldn't and won't.
Beveridge likes to rotate his mids thru the wings -> fwds. They rarely spend all day on the ball. If they do it seems to be in their first game or two when returning from injury - to get their touch back?
Wallis appeared to be on-ball all game last w/end. He likely will be again this week, But sooner or later he will be spending large chunks of time playing HFF or fwd pocket and his numbers will drop.
This happened with Wallis in 2015. He was injured in rnd.3 and returned rnd.7 for a 12 possession and 49SC game. The next few rounds: 8 - 23 poss, 115 SC; 9 - 36 poss, 153 SC; 10 - 22 poss, 82 SC; 11 - bye; 12 - 23 poss, 3 goals. 136 SC; 13 - 21 poss. 66 SC; 14 - 19 poss, 78 SC; 15 - 22 poss, 82 SC
I remember it clearly because I traded for him in draft that year. When he was on-ball he would score as well as anyone but then he would be shifted fwd and his scoring would dry right up.
The same thing happens to Dahlhaus. Not so much to Macrae as he tends to play wing rather than HFF-fwd pocket.
Historically, they both score better than Wallis.

Tend to agree. Very handball-happy - good score on the weekend but only 8 kicks. Hard to predict how he fits in with Bont, Macrae, Hunter, Dahl, Picken, Daniel, etc. Also Libba will be back at some point you assume. They'll all rotate around the midfield, wing and forward with the odd tagging job perhaps as well. This is why I was hesitant on Dahl/Macrae at the start of the year and both were down on the weekend with Wallis in there, although overall they've been OK.

Wallis might turn out good and if he was $420k I'd seriously consider him. But, at $473k I just can't justify it.

Greenwood. Plays mid and fwd, CP and tackles. By all reports very professional and mature in his approach. Cheaper than Stewart, too.

Agree with some of this but not all. I got Wallis in as cover in the midfield last year and he served me very very well.

The pass mark is a bit different in the forward line to the midfield. If he puts in a couple of low ones it doesn't matter so much as long as his good ones are good.

I'm not saying he's a definite but he is under consideration for me at F5-6.
