Ok. That’s helpful.
So I’m just going to say it...Rockliff? I know I know. But anyone who can score 170 SuperCoach points in a match, JLT or not, needs to be discussed. If he were 22 years on and on the way up, we’d all be picking him at his price as a breakout contender. But this is a guy who has seriously burned people these past couple of years. But it’s also a guy who has a nearly unmatched SC scoring history. I don’t know that I can pick him but someone had to start to discussion.
Aaaaaand discuss!!
Mate, he's looking in for me. With Wines out he's got the midfield spot he requires to be supercoach relevant again. Watching him yesterday you could see how much better he makes the Power when transferring play. HAS to play mid and his big number games could be back
I'm so stoked as I got him in my draft league on Friday with pick 112 or something, was bagged at the time by the lads but this could pay huge dividends if the Rocky of old returns.
Yep certainly an eye opener of a score I see there is talk of having trouble free preseason after a couple of years body issues but do we believe this will he just slide back into popping out rubbish scores ? at worst he will cost a trade if he starts with 2 low scores at best he continues on from the 170 and we are feeling pretty good about starting him ...... think I might take a punt.So I’m just going to say it...Rockliff? Lockliff!!
Just like too many times before! It is an amusing discussion, but only for about 3 minutes (or until you sober up!)
it is his downside that can ruin you.
Not only that he also has that unique ability to string together 2-3 weeks of shockers rather than just a single off-night! (or until you sober up!)
His 170 only included 1 tackle. At his best he was a tackling machine. If he was tackling in the JLT I might have to think about it more but there's no way he's going to go big consistently enough if he's still not tackling.Rocky's Last 5 Years.
2014 18 132.0
2015 16 101.9
2016 17 111.0
2017 20 96.3
2018 18 74.8
-2018, he was played out of position the whole year. I completely disregard 2018 in his scoring history.
-2017, he averaged 123.4ppg in his first 8 games before getting injured.
He has had shoulder issues hindering him since 2015 in which he had surgery to rectify comming into 2018 season. He has implied it didn't work in which he had to have a full reco at the end of last year.
I believe alot of these 2-3 week shockers you are reffering too were largely due to this shoulder injury which he has been carrying for enternity.
He has a case definately, and if hes ownership stays low ill probally pick him over a crouch type.

Dom Sheed is one of the more interesting cases I've come across. Averaged 72.6 during the home and away season last year scoring one ton.
Since then his scores have been
QF: 130
PF: 105
GF: 116
JLT1: 144
JLT2: 134
Would need to average 100 at the very least to be considered a successful pickup. He is 24 next month which is when these type of guys normally hit there straps but to go from 72.6 at age 23 to 100+ at age 24 would have to be unprecedented. That being said he is very tempting, it seems as though something has clicked for him. Also cheaper than Brad Crouch without the injury history.
I think he'll need to go fairly high to really hurt you if you leave him out..... the problem is, I suppose he could. Don't think I've ever heard of such a highly touted player, and there's a certain 'safety in numbers' if you pick him, as most serious teams will have him.I am seriously thinking about leaving Sam Walsh out of my starting side. IMHO too much has to go right for high $ rookies to make any significant $.
One poor week seems to slow their growth very quickly.
Unless he goes beserk the downside is probably better than the upside as a POD?
I guess it comes down to available rookies for Round 1 but I would be interested in the communities thoughts on both sides of this coin?
