I've got Sagan, Griepel, Cavendish, Demare, Kristoff and Degenkolb in my squad for this last stage. I think I only have one transfer left which leaves me only $500k short of Coquard. Might have to go for Boasson-Hagen instead.

Selecting a bonus stage is always a chook raffle. I've often gone with a late, mountain stage, but sometimes it can be hard to get your squad right given that your trying to select top GC candidates, but some stages might end up suiting break-aways more, depending on the overall GC results.

Maybe Quintana wants to hold second place for the chance of it being elevated to first sometime in the future... ;)

I recall you having had that same criticism about other major contenders in previous years who werent actually wearing the yellow jersey at the time.

Looks like we are up to the fifth ranked league! With two teams in our league with their bonus stage still to come we could improve further. Unfortunately I kept Van Garderen ahead of Rodriguez. Traded out now for Valverde. Think I'll just save the rest of my trades for the final stage now...

I'd do it. Given that you're 8th, you'd want to make sure you make the finals for starters. If you're in the bottom part of the 8 you won't get the double chance so I think it's worth trying to get the best team possible sooner rather than saving trades for later when you may not be able to benefit.

J.Redden of Port Adelaide might be another ruck who could be worth a look at another club. I get the impression he's probably talented enough, but won't get enough of a run at it with Lobbe and Ryder being a strong set-up.
