I rated Lonergan as a rookie so I've got a soft spot for him, but I'm happy with him at D4. I wouldn't be comfortable with Rich at D3 though. So I'm either sacrificing money from another line to go deep in defence and have Dea at D6 or making a choice between Rich and Lonergan. I wish it was...

The guys were very bullish on Rich on the podcast. He's been in and out of my side but Ive had him before and remember how goddamn frustrating he can be. Lonergan has filled his spot at D4 but he is by no means locked.

Who are your 2 cheap rucks? I havent seen anyone going with 2 rookies so far. Huge call.

A few times in earlier incarnations of the SCC forum but not for a while. Prossy is good with uncovering a few nuggets from time to time.

I've settled on 2-1-5 up forward. Wells at F3 is tempting but leaves me pretty exposed. My setup as it stands is : 3-2-3 4-2-4 2-0-1 2-1-5 It gives me as many as 15 keepers if all goes well. I don't expect that to happen, would be nice if it did though!

DPP will come into play a lot more too I think. Mitch Brown may not be the cash cow wed hoped for but he may end up being very handy to keep on the bench for added flexibility.

Every other year we've had to settle on a Salem or Rohan to play on field up forward because there's no viable options. This year I'm struggling to find a rookie mid that I'm happy starting on field. Its very different to every other year and could catch a lot of Supercoaches out.

And how is the Tigers track record in finals? ;)

I'm going with Hall purely because of the midfield time he will get with Swallow, Prestia and JOM not playing yet. Between them and Gaz, I doubt all 4 will be on the park at any one time so he should stay in the mid rotations. As good as Gray looks, he's only had a few good games. It wasn't long...

I would go second too... Both options have one safe pick and one risk. With the first, if Smith doesn't work out then you're stuck. You have to find 100k to upgrade him. With the second one, if KK doesn't work out then there's plenty of other good picks within 30k. Its much easier to fix that...

Good points... This is why Pendles isn't in my side at the moment. Or Sidey. It's just starting to look like the Sydney midfield. 5 guns who will all average 100-110 but no uber elite 120 averages.

Yeah I like it too. My defence is exactly the same as that as it stands, I've got a bit more value thru the mids and stuck Goldy and Stef in the ruck. Very similar looking team to mine though so I rate it highly ;)

I'm not sure all of Pendles, Sidearse and Treloar can average 115 in the same midfield. I would back the first 2 to do it before Treloar. A lot of other kids running through there as well... Adams, Crisp, Aish, Elliott, Fasolo, etc. I like the way Treloar goes about it but off a limited...

The Awesomeness is in! I was in #2 last year and we were top of the ladder going into the last week then had the worst luck and ended up 3rd. Looks like we've got a pretty good bunch together, hopefully we can give it a good shake!

It's always the trickiest line imo. This year even more so. Having someone like Dea at D5 for example just lessens the impact of having to play the likes of Brown, Hartley, Broad, etc as there's no guarantees on any of them. The forward rookies look at lot more reliable. Rather than have 5...

Gresham looks like a good pickup if named. Only played a half and still scored in the 40s. Don't like the Saints history with their first year kids though. Oliver looks like a gun but I think for the price I would prefer Bennedy.

There's so much value in the forward line that throwing in a 300k kid who most probably isn't a keeper, just feels like the money could be better spend elsewhere. He's fringe best 22 as it is so its a massive risk for that spend.
