The leader has done 4 trades today bringing in Katusha, Kristoff, Degenkolb and Sagan.

I had to trade out Boasson-Hagen to have enough $$$ for a team. Brought in Navardauskas as a risk/reward type scenario.

So my changes were;

Quickstep to Lotto Soudal
Martin to Matthews
Barta to Bennett
Dumoulin to Demare
Cancellara to Degenkolb
Malori to Kristoff
Boasson-Hagen to Navardauskas

Kept in Kelderman for tomorrow's stage as he should top 10, but will trade him out after the cobbled stage if Dennis is still in yellow. If not will trade out Dennis and keep Kelderman in long term. Either way I have 2 million in the bank so I can trade out Dennis/Kelderman for whoever I want.

Why Lotto-Soudal?
Entering sprinter territory and Cavendish a clear favourite. imo

I just noticed that Adam Hansen is still in the Tour. I thought he'd been withdrawn after his crash last week.
If you didn't know, Hansen is an Aussie who has ridden in 11 consecutive Grand Tours. This Tour will be his 12th
and if he finishes it he will be the equal record-holder for consecutive GTs.
An incredible feat.

Cheapest/best option available. I was going to go for Katusha, as they would score me more than Lotto, but I needed that 2mil in case a rider pulls out. With Kwiatkowski's form iffy, only today, Wednesday and Friday will Cavendish be a clear favourite to score for them so it's potentially a mistake for anyone having Ettix as their team for that price. Whereas Lotto have more options on the other stages.

See your reasoning, Grater. Don't necessarily agree.
I have faith in Kwiatkowski plus Martin and Stybar for those other stages.
Probably wrongly.

please please please let there be carnage.

Huge gusty winds at the finish. THey had to remove the 1km to go banner as it was falling over. They might neutralise it. They better not though.

That's for both of us, Prospector.
We both got Greipel and Cav.

Pretty fun stage with all the wind and rain,

And Grater was right about Lotto Soudal.
But he doesn't have Greipel?

That's another reason why I chose Lotto Soudal. To make up for not having Greipel. If I had Greipel I wouldn't have had Lotto Soudal.

So you were the only two with Cavendish and Greipel? Good job.

I was a little happier after this stage with, Cavendish, Martin, Sagan, Avermaet, Froome all scoring some points. Thanks to FG and his idea of looking at the odds on the stages to get an idea of form, due to my lack of knowledge .

Still going ok but a bit annoyed that Dumolin, Martin, Thomas and Froome finished in the points after I traded them out.

My team is all sprinters, virtually. Not the best courses for sprinters but thought I'd take the punt regardless.

I am on 756 points in 76th place. The leader has opened up a gap of around 200 points from where I am at 926.

i'm in 110th or something.

It sucks having this stage today because you can't really trade for it without screwing up your team for the rest of the week. So not many people will score well on this stage as you can't bring in the riders that will feature like Albasini, Valverde, D Martin, Arredondo, Mollema, Uran etc because if you do, then you won't be scoring much on stages 4-8.

I want to score something today other than the jersey wearers so re-traded in Dumoulin as my last trade for the week as he should get yellow tonight. He'll most likely lose it tomorrow, but I can sacrifice one spot in the team for the rest of the week.
