Well, a disappointing year for me ending up with a rank of 12,078 - my worst ranking of the three years I've played SuperCoach - if fact after finishing in the 1000-2000 range my first year I've got worse each year which is a worry.

Anyhow - thanks to all who gave me advice during the year (and thanks of course to the boys on the podcast) - this has been a fun forum to post in and read.

2016 regrets: starting Brad Crouch, Jesse Lonergan, Aaron Hall and Barlow. Not starting Sam Docerty because I had him all year the year before and he was rubbish.

2016 good calls: starting Pendles.

With putting in very little effort in to my run on team this year i am happy to finish up with a R23 score of 2577 with Gawn as C and a ranking of 19k.

Not the best but cant wait to do it all again next year

Team: Dino's Dynamos
Final rank: 2190
Highest score: 2537 Rd 19
Best starting player: Dangerfield
Worst starting player: Stef Martin/Brad Crouch
Players that exceeded expectations: Simpson, Wells, Oscar McDonald.
Best trade in: Simpson Rd 6
Worst trade in: Franklin Rd 18 (cost me prelim final in cash league)
Regrets: Trading in McVeigh instead of Docherty, continually disregarding Pendles at start of seasons, kept waiting for Merrett to fade before finally
getting him in Rd 17.
Starting players still in final team: Shaw, Laird, OMac, Danger, Rockliff, Goldy, Dusty, Wells.

Highlight of my season: My 10 man league finished #14

Summary: Had a great season until prelim final. My strategy of holding players (Rocky, Barlow, Wells, Laird) through injuries paid off as I still had 2 trades come Rd 23 although it did hurt my overall ranking.

Strategy for 2017: Be hesitant when selecting players who have had an interrupted preseason.

Final rank: 13718
Highest score: 2513 Rd 12
Best starting player: Dangerfield
Worst starting player: Sam Gray
Players that exceeded expectations: Howe, Wells
Best trade in: Martin Rd7 - Gawn R15 - Riewoldt R23 ;)
Worst trade in: Lycett R11 (In general going early on players like McVeigh, JJ, Deledio)
Regrets: Starting S Gray, Lonergan, B Crouch & Rockliff, Pendles not in my team all season.
Starting players still in final team: Shaw, Laird, Danger, Goldy, Wells. Shiel.

Highlight of my season: Cash League GF

Summary: Sucked into mid-pricers early & too reluctant to trade in breakouts in fear they'd slow ie Merrett, Docherty also starting "premo" players in hope they could reach real premium scores like Shiel, Duncan, Gray, big learning season for me

Strategy for 2017: No pre-season = won't be in my team, avoid mid price trap for unproven players, research but don't overthink.

Cheers for the season guys has genuinely been fun despite the poor showing think i was 40K last season so up to 13K though not too inspiring at least is an improvement, aiming for top 1000 next season .

Cheers for the template @Dino

Team: The Flying V
Final rank: 402
Highest score: 2564 Rd 12
Best starting player: Max Gawn
Worst starting player: Probably Aaron Hall, but Fyfe going down early sucked was tempted to not start with him and go with Danger.

Players that exceeded expectations: For me it would have been Zach Merrett since I traded him in during the Bye rounds. Kerridge was solid also.

Best trade in: Fyfe to Hannebery & Aaron Hall to Zach Merrett.

Worst trade in: Toby Greene in for Matheson during last weeks prelim cost me (Should have went with Howe). Special mention Lids in for Libba.

Regrets: Not starting with Danger and going with Fyfe. Got Danger in round 5 probably cost me a couple 100 of points atleast. Also traded out Wells to early got a bogus news report telling me his out so traded him to get in Montagna in round 9.

Starting players still in final team: Shaw, Laird, Goldy, Gawn, Dusty, Ward, Pendles, Buddy & Kerridge.

Highlight of my season: Won 4 flags out of 6 leagues. Also my highest finish for a season.

Summary: Can't really complain. Avoided injuries with my PODs and think I picked a solid starting squad which always helps. A few captain choices throughout the year did let me down.

Strategy for 2017: Get the right rookies as always, go with my gut instinct on my PODs.

HUGE SHOUTOUT TO THE BOYS ON THE PODCAST, BRILLIANT AS ALWAYS AND THANKS FOR THE SHOWS THROUGHOUT THE SEASON!

Final rank: 44,000+
Highest score: 2451 Rd 19
Best starting player: Dangerfield
Worst starting player(s): Where do I start? Ablett, Fyfe, Hall, Barlow, Nic Nat shit this is depressing
Players that exceeded expectations: Coniglio, Pendlebury, Tom McDonald.
Best trade in: Hanners Rd 6
Worst trade in: Lids R16
Regrets: Not listening to my gut and missing my smokey Docherty, also going against my better judgment and starting guys with injury clouds and minimal pre season.
Starting players still in final team: Shaw, Laird, Pendlebury, Steph Martin, D.Hall, D,Martin

Highlight of my season: End of R23.

Summary: Toughest year to date, and worst ranking in my SC history. Such an unforgiving game once you start playing catch up.

Strategy for 2017: No pre season no selection, injury cloud no selection. Listen to my gut and not be swayed.

Thanks to everyone for the enjoyable year, the insights from all different team supporters which is what sets this forum apart from others. And of course the light hearted banter which makes the pain a little more bearable.

Have a safe off season, see you all in 2017!

Just wanted to send a huge shout-out to Fbdonkey and Marcus for there efforts on the Podcast this year. It was my first year tuning in and I totally loved it. I'm a massive Swans fan but I live in London so the POD really helps me keep up to speed with what's going in footy land. I heeded your advice on more than one occasion resulting in me avoiding half-arsed desperation trades and chasing points from previous weeks. Thanks heaps guys for helping me to my most consistent season so far and I look forward to doing it all again next year. You guys rock!

Team: Fort Bondi

Final rank: 820

Highest score: 2647 Rd 23

Best starting player: Dangerfield/Dusty/Wells
Worst starting player(s): Fyfe/Ablett/B Crouch
Players that exceeded expectations: Zerrett/Gawn/Riewoldt
Best trade in: Boyd/Simpson/Docherty/Riewoldt
Worst trade in: JJ for Rich round 4
Regrets: Going for JJ instead of Boyd back in Round 4. Got Boyd in later on but wasted trades.
Also I regret posting 2 scores over 2600 in Round 21 and 23 but losing a couple of important Prelims in Round 22 with exactly the same staring side. That stung a bit.
Starting players still in final team: Shaw, Laird, Parker, Danger, Goldy, Dusty

Highlight of my season: Topping the SCC Group in Round 21 and finishing 820th at season's end.

Summary: Really enjoyed this year. I went through that tough injury period before the byes with Rocky, Adams, JJ, Laird, Crouch all on the pine at the same time but I stuck with it and had a great run home. I went into the byes ranked over 20000 but thanks to the Podcast I got my strategy right and improved my rank each week before finally cracking the top 1000 in the final week. I'm also super-proud to lift the SCC#13 Premiership Cup!!

Strategy for 2017: Keep listening to the SCC Podcast and try and start a bit stronger than this year. Like everyone else, make sure guys I pick have had strong pre-seasons, although the Ablett's of the world will always be a temptation.

Go Swans!!

Highest score: 2577 Rd 23
Best starting player: Dangerfield
Worst starting player: Lonergan/Steele/Brad Crouch
Players that exceeded expectations: Lloyd, Hewett, Papley, Dea, Walla
Best trade in: Simpson Rd 7 (not sure on that one)
Worst trade in: Stef Martin R16
Regrets: Not starting Papley, trading in Stef Martin instead of Gawn, trading in Davis, MacPherson, Hopper
Starting players still in final team: Shaw, Danger, Rockliff, Goldy, Wells, Rich, McGovern, Hunter, Hall, Franklin, Kerridge

Highlight of my season: Highest ranking for a while but didnt make a GF

Summary: Started the season with a lot of Mid priced players and some payed off but left me behind teams with prems and rookies.

Strategy for 2017:
First of all dont plan anything for the first weekend of the comp. 5 years in a row i have been away and havent had time to adjust my team.
I think a lot of teams will have returning Dons players (it will be interesting to see how they are priced).
Starting rucks will be Gawn and Goldy as NicNat is out.
No pre season no selection, except for GAJ.
