Round 7 - Slam Dunk, Neale down (and pray), feeling a bit Dusty = SC Carnage!!!

Well it's been a tough round.

I doubt that anyone will have missed "all" of the carnage (I'm affected by Dunkley & Dusty). I suspect some have copped it all. If that's you, RUOK?

And that's not to mention some rookie challenges (non playing &/or poor scoring on field).


I will keep Dusty (unless more news on his foot injury puts him out for more than the one week).

Dunkley - I assume he's gone for an extended period so will trade. I think I will use the opportunity to cash grab (eg: Dunkley to A. Brayshaw) and then trade ripe rookies (eg: Gulden) to a better on field player (if I can afford to) OR downgrade for extra cash and upgrades next week if I can't get a "keeper".


FWD Considerations:
Sidebottom - value and adds DPP
Tom McDonald - looking pretty good, former top SC FWD
Hawkins - has dropped in price but starting to turn it around?

MID Considerations:
A. Brayshaw - value
Sidebottom - value and adds DPP
Duncan - massive on the weekend and with Danger out for extended period could go off
Touk Miller - had a solid season so far - No 1 MID for GCS

DEF Considerations (via DPP magic in my case)
Mills - has dropped in price but looking solid
Salem - looks in awesome form, good role
May (if can wait a week) will drop to below $400k...
Rich - solid and likely to be top 8 DEF

Dunkley and Dangerfield to move on for me.
But it's a question of balance and timing:
if I trade D and D to premiums I get points on field
if I downgrade cashed up rookies I get money in the bank
I'm going to need the dollars to bring in the two premiums I really need: MacRae and Gawn

How to balance points v dollars? and when?
atm I'm thinking of going half-and-half: Dunkley->Duncan and Clark->Impey.
It gives me two potential top-10s, removes my worst "rookie" and keeps Dangerfield for a sideways trade.

Tex is having a good season. But how good?
According to @sirswampthing:
100+ possies and 25+ goals in the first six games of a season has only been done 7 times since 1970: Jezza; T Daniher; K Templeton; Gaz Snr x 2; Carey and now Tex.
That's pretty decent company.

With Neale, Dunkley and Dusty I was thinking of moving Neale and Dunkley for two sideswaps (Walsh and probably Zorko).

That was until Flynn wasn't named and I pulled the pin on Flynn at R2.

With the limited Rookies and the fact I got in F. Macrae last week, I had to trade Dunkley down to C. Poulter and hope that he performs and stays in the team, and then went Meek up to Gawn.

Feels good to have Gawn in. If this year in anything like last year, he will get injured now.

I had to deal with no Flynn, too. I didn't want to lose him but I didn't want to have to live with Treacy's poor scores, either.
So I moved Treacy to the fwds and brought in Mumford!
I get Mumford's points and money-making potential without losing out on Flynn.
Good move or bad?
[Mumford, by the way, is the second highest averaging ruck.]
