Round 17 Discussion and Trades

Only suffered the one donut last round - prepared for Gawn to be out but in the process left my fwd bench bare so when Boak missed that was it. It could have been worse as I know of at least one person who had two donuts.
This week I bring in Hurn which will leave me with one final defence upgrade short of a completely upgraded team. I'm looking at Whitfield for that one,
How's everyone else doing?

Still a defender and 2 mids or 1 mid and a forward needed. 7 trades, $350,500.
No Gawn cover unless Fort gets a game.

Had the Gawn donut but no others.

If Kelly is out, I'll probably trade him straight to Neale.

Have one defence upgrade to go, unsure whether to go Ryan this week or hold off a couple of weeks for Whitfield, assuming he comes back.

If i use 2 trades this week it leaves me with 5 and a completed team.

I'm in the same boat in regards to defence. With Hore out and losing 60K from 2 weeks ago my original plan of going Hore to Whitfield might need 2 trades. I'm now leaning towards Sicily as his price is too hard to ignore and revisiting Whitfield when his break even is lower.

Sicily is at a good price, isn't he?
As someone who started with him I'm quite filthy with Clarko for playing him fwd: both for the low scores that resulted and the drop in price that let's him be picked up cheaply.

With the Hawks winning & Sicily turning it up hopefully that's the end of Clarko's experimentation with him!

I'm technically fully upgrades but I could have a much stronger side if I wasn't so Impatient.
Suffered the Gawn doughnut due to no cover, was going to get Westoff but opted for Neale instead.

If I trade in rookie Dunkley into my mids this week a second trade gets me Bont for final upgrade which gives me a completed team and 5 trades left might do it even if Dunkley not named but expect him to be

That sounds good to me. As long as you have bench cover in your mids.

Thanks for your comment. I tend to agree - at this stage I am going to trade him out. After listening to the podcast, I think the guys suggested the same.

Yep agree with the trade out avenue, especially with 6 trades left.

Other outs that may affect teams - Mummy not picked (assume still "sore") & Griffin Logue dropped. Maboir Chol & Duursma both listed on extended benches but with respective teams bringing in gun players - check final teams tonight...
