Below is copied straight from a local trading card website, I know John was a regular and active member here in previous years.

Sad news
by collingwood » Yesterday, 21:28
I heard news at the fair today that John C, aka johnnytheboy1, has recently passed away from cancer. My condolences to his family, particularly his brother who is also a keen card collector. John's biggest interest was collecting the older cards, particularly '50s and '60s, and had a great collection. John also always very fair in deals that we struck together over the years.

John, you were a good man, I'll miss your presence at card shows.

I am very sorry to hear that. We knew he had been batting cancer and had become quite concerned about him given we had not heard from him on here for some time.

RIP johnnytheboy

Agreed. Hopefully the guys see this before they record, I'm sure they will pay their respects as JTB was almost part of the SCC furniture.

RIP Johnny. I almost won't mind if the Hawks get up for you this year.

RIP johnnytheboy. I always appreciated the trouble you took to post updates on league standings and encourage us, even when in the midst of chemo.
Sad.

Sad news. JTB was a humble bloke who always had a positive word to say on the forums. Hopefully his passing was a peaceful one.

I'll miss his presence on the site.
