How many trades does everyone have left???

I have been trading fairly aggressively and due to a couple of injuries, etc I am down to 17 after making two this week.... I have 5 rookies still playing on field, 3 in the backline, kelly in midfield and spargo as a foward.

How many is a good number of trades left going into the byes?

I think this is entirely dependant on how many upgrades you have left to do along with your rookie cash generation available.
Without knowing how many stalled rooks you have I would say if you have 5 rooks left to upgrade with 17 trades remaining you are starting to get tight for trades.

If you allow 2.5 trades per upgrade thats 13 trades to get you fully upgraded with 4 remining so its tight.
My advice is to look for value in your immediate upgrades so you can reduce the amount of trade downs and increase the remaining trades once fully upgraded.

NP and not to confuse you but I believe you should keep trading if it means you are upgrading your team and you are going for overall rank.
The reason is that this is a game that is a race to upgrade your team to full premo and then tinker with sub par players.
That will usually put you in a good spot for rank.

The main take out from my advice above is based on your trade scenario I would look for value trade ins like Mouch over Macrae so you can conserve some trades.

For the record I will have just 4 rooks on field after this week with 18 trades left and will be close to fully upgraded before the byes.

Content but regretting a few decisions in the last few weeks. Chose McLean over macrae, Simpson over Webster and Lloyd. Passed on darling!!!!!

Let's review that. Only regret passing on Lloyd. Happy with McLean and Simpson.

7 trades left with one upgrade. Guelfi, but with tmac & Heeney dropping big dollars, I am going to wait. Overall dead and buried and sitting third in my league, but there is only two games between first & eighth. Very tight indeed.
