I am open to having Naismith at R3 if cash allows...
I was playing around with my side today and putting in all these guys I've publicly said "I'm taking"..... well guess what, I can't afford them all! I honestly think a 251k R3 is impossible.

I did similar a few years ago with Witts.
It really depends on the rookies. I'll pick them and fill the rest from there. Rookies, then R1/2 with rookie R3, then fill the remaining mid slots, then the must-have FWD and DEF. If there's enough rookies and discounted picks, sometimes there's more than $100k left which might allow it to work. Might be a better use rather than cash on the bench.
Thinking of going Gawn as R1 instead of Grundy.
Gawn in 26% of team. Grundy in 67%. Gawn slight POD and $6k cheaper. With Gawn as captain I think he'll be pushing hard.
I know $6k isn't much but I in a season where cash will be scarce every $ could count.
Other interesting observation is that the stats suggest that 7% of teams don't have either Grundy or Gawn !!!

I can't not start with Grundy. Way too consistent and permanent C/VC option.
I currently have Nicnat at R2. Still toying with Naismith at R2 and having 240k in bank to go early on a rookie price spike, latching onto a form premo before they get too expensive (eg Roberton/Noble up to a 480-500k def).

Absolutely! I see the final teams - no Ash (GWS DEF rook) or Roberston (MRL MID rook). Aaahhh!
I was watching the pre-amble to the game tonight and realised Grundy was up against Tim English. Locked in Grundy with 5 mins to go and banged the VC on him. Gotta be happy with that!!!
I think so. Simply because I have more faith in Naismith scoring 70 than the rookies I’ll be playing on field otherwise. Mind you I will feel sick every time Gawn plays.
