Surely the sample size wouldn't be very large7 games at the MCG before the bye and only averages 79 there. Hmmm he stays in my team just atm

I'm not too sure it's a reflection on anyone's medicos, rather a reflection on the injury itself. A ruptured patellar tendon is one of the worst injuries you can get as a footballer. For comparison's sake, it's way worse than doing your ACL. ACL's aren't even a full year out anymore (we've had a few high profile guys over here in the USA come back to full fitness after like 8 or 9 months) and your knee comes back stronger than before surgery. Patellar tendon tears supposedly take a year to recover fully from, but more than likely it either takes at least 2 years to get back to full form or you just never reach it again. Part of it is that your leg is immobilized at the knee for a long time after surgery and your leg atrophies a lot. The other part is just how devastating this particular type of injury is.I'm not convinced that JOM's current fitness is a reflection of Hawthorn's medicos but more a reflection of the SUN's medicos.
One of the reasons that I'm not convinced about JOM is the fact that Hawthorn spread the SC points around so I don't see JOM smashing out great scores as you say. Does this concern you or do you expect this pattern to change?
Dayne Beams. A quiet 15 touches at 93%DE in the first half ... if Sandi plays well this week there is some chance there might be 100,000+ identical teams in R1.
Games of what will you play 22 this year TC? Tiddlywinks or AFL footy or what?Yes - me.
I reckon so ...is it stupid with all these injury affected guys to be trying to land a break out?

Nope. I'm just so used to hearing about a patellar tendon tear being career threatening over here when in happens in the NFL/NBA. The grueling rehab process always gets beaten to death on sports TV. Players do come all the way back from it sometimes, the odds are just not as good as other injuries. It does help that JOM is really young. I'd probably back him to play a long career because his recovery looks very promising; I just think there's a bit too much risk for me to select him. I also think the probability of him dropping off as this season goes along is fairly high.Hey Seppo, you're not related to Dr Bones, are you?
He'll be right, no rests because the Hawks will drain every last bit o anything from him. I also but "should" instead of will because of your very statement. If he gets a good run at it he will smash out some great scoring imo. I don't know where Hawthorn get their medicos from but I'd like em' on the Dees books.
Wow when/if Clayton Oliver gets a tank he'll be a super premo for sure.
He might but i doubt it.He might do a Bont and breakout this year
Bont is very much the exception, not the rule! You're playing with fire if your picking players in the hope they will play like a "once a decade" player like Bont.He might do a Bont and breakout this year
I was referring to "once a decade" in regard to how quickly he developed. I can't think of another player in recent history that could average 100+ in their 2nd season, it's very rare and Oliver is at the awkward price where you do probably need him to average at least around 95 to make any sort of decent coin.Calm down, Bont isn't a once in a decade player. I'm just thinking not every rookie has the "second year blues" and young Oliver could be a good stepping stone to a GAJ come round 9. But I can do the same with a rookie anyway. I really like Oliver but you're right, maybe next year.

I stand corrected 108 average, I always thought his breakout year was his 3rd.Fyfe?
Can some of you Cats supporters please expand a little on George Horlin-Smith? We're all salivating about JOM and Swallow but this bloke has had a great JLT and is only 234K which is basically a rookie price. What's his JS looking like? I noticed Scott Selwood isn't playing? Are they competing for the same spot?
In the absence of good rookies this year in the mids I just thought it was worth the question.
