Yes I am spreading the rookie spend around a bit more for that extra comfort they will play. I do like Kennedy and Wells even though that's costing me $200Kish more than you have spent in those spots. I actually downgraded from Mills-->Kennedy to free up some $.
Past experience says don't...
I have $50K spare and Gawn to your Tippett yet somehow you've got Sheridan at D5 to my $117K rookie. You've even got Boyd to my Simpson which evens out Gawn/Tippett. It's rookies as you first said. It's amazing that all adds up to Sheridan but I guess it is only $230K and if you have skipped...
I've got Kennedy, Gresham, Cockatoo, McCarthy and Menadue currently as premium priced rookies. Duggan, Ashby, Mills and Anderson have been in some drafts but currently out.
So where's your value picks then? Must be your midfield?
The main thing that would sway me from the deep midfield is pure mid rookies turning up but they seem pretty thin? I mean they are there but not in the same nos as prior years. The best ones seem to have M/F status which allows then the stretched out forward line.
From the news paper...
Meanwhile, No. 2 draft selection Christian Petracca is highly unlikely to make his AFL debut in Round 1 after breaking his toe during the Christmas holiday period.
The highly rated teenager did not play at all in 2015 after requiring a knee reconstruction.
“He hasn’t...
I think many teams will start at least two rookies on field in defence in if they are only 65-70 so I don't see even those types of scores as a disadvantage early.
This is close to how I am set up.
3-1-4
5-1-5
2-0-1
2-0-6
You must have some value picks in your premiums to be 4-1-3 in defense to my 3-1-4. I've got Goldy, Fyfe and Danger so maybe you are skipping one or two of those.
@TwentyThree i have two of your old dudes in Bartel and Simpson
@M4TT B8S i went back to Simpson by downgrading Merrett back to Wells. Sheridan still on the radar though
The question though is will we have to fill those other lines or can rookies in those other spots get it done. Too early to tell on that but forward rookies look promising including starting Kerridge forward and maybe Wells.
I have seen draft teams that are solving the mid-priced madness by running 3 rookies on field in defence or 4 up forward. I think it is too early to tell if that will work. If it can work I'll probably do it but as you say you don't want to miss that extra mid rookie gem if he exists.
