Breakout Year for this young gun. Thinking about putting him in my team this year. POD

Expensive, will need to keep him in your team for the whole year. Can he average over 100?

He's been in and out of my team all since SC opened. Breakout yr....yes. But another has caught my eye...the only thing is...I don't know who to pick.

Gray v Hall?
Gray v Hall v Greene

FBDonkey pretty dismissive of Hall last week and sounding pretty keen on Greene this week.

The only problem is with these boom players ... unpleasant memories of Lumumba last year. I guess these guys are all potential break outs rather than people with a long track record of doing poorly like Lumumba was. Have to admit I'm tempted to take one ... but which. Port with the nice draw / GC with most of their midfielders missing in action / or Greene who probably has the best scoring history of the three.

This yr I'm going with my gut feeling, I'm taking in what others say...but won't let it change my mind. Well I try not to. I'm going with my gut. Hopefully I come out on top.

I'm very much tempted to go with both.
I was thinking about it also but do I drop Dusty for him? This thing with his father may not affect him at all. Or do I find the cash somewhere to upgrade Wells who may score the same as a Gray/Greene/Hall anyway? I actually like a lot of the 400-500k fwds but there are a lot of good rookies that you can't ignore either.

Honestly, I have been thinking about dropping Dusty for weeks now... Not because of his situation, I just wanted to be unique. Every Tom, Dick and Harry has Dusty. Every midfield is almost identical, bar 1 or 2 players. For me to have some sort of an advantage, Dusty, will probably make way. P.O.D is the way to get ahead...it's the matter of getting the right players.

Exactly people dismiss pre-season form a little too quickly I reckon if you go back over the last 2-3 years there's always a great lead for break out players especially one's around that 4-5 years in the system mark, Lumumba was in my team but that was my mistake not the NABs scores and it looks even worse when his teammate McDonald had a super NAB as well, was cheaper & fit the breakout mold, check these out from last season

Jack Newnes
2015 SP:$436,800 FP:$489,600
Ave 96 (84%GT) FAve: 90.7

Mitch Wallis
2015 SP:$340,700 FP:$531,400
Nab Ave 105 (79%GT) FAve: 98.5

Mitch Hallahan
2015 SP:$312,000 FP: $425,800
Nab Ave 89 (73%GT) Fave:78.9

Taylor Adams
2015 SP:$378,500 FP: $528,500
Nab Ave 92 (77%GT) FAve 97.9

Rory Laird
2015 SP:$317,800 FP: $506,200
Nab Ave 88 (70%GT) FAve 96.8

Tom McDonald
2015 SP:$381,100 FP: $517,500
Nab Ave 101 (87%GT) FAve 95.9

Elis Yolmen fits the criteria too in years on list but not the games part.

There are failures of course Jake Lloyd, Mav Weller, Aaron Young, Nick Haynes but feel if you're smart you can pick you're way around them.

Won't be 100% sure until all the NAB games are done but i feel there are significantly more Breakout candidates than I've seen in the last 3 seasons.

You don't neccessarily have to go POD from round 1 though.

I've learned over time to go fairly cookie cutter from the beginning. Mind you I've never finished higher than last years 851.....

You can get PODish with your trades rather than your starting side, that's the point I'm making. Then again if you have a strong feeling about a POD player, then I suggest you go for it.

Dusty scores big in DT and AF. If he could be a lot better at disposing that ball he would become a great SC player
