    Trades before round 4

I need to rant about 2 things: Ablett - People keep saying they need to play him forward. First off, he's the greatest midfielder I've ever seen and still top 10 even at his age so why wouldn't you want him there. Secondly, I'm not convinced he's going to be the powerful force as a forward...

    Trades before round 4

Original plan with Higgins was to bring him in mid-season according to Hardwick. I predict they'll give him one more game and drop him back to VFL for another month to build. Seems to be common practice these days to give these kids a taste for a couple of weeks so they can back to the lower...

    Trades before round 4

Henry will make money quickest after his good score. You'd think he gets a couple more games at least. But a couple of 30s is also possible. Esava wasn't in the side until they pulled Stanley (baffling to be honest why they did that). Difficult to predict, surely Smith comes back in but who...

    Trades before round 4

Yeah I considered that. North and Brisbane are mostly weak in the middle, their key defenders aren't terrible and haven't given up big scores to other key forwards so far this year, so that doesn't put me off completely. They've also been quite competitive in the first 3 games. It is a gut...

Stick with Smith and Danger IMO. Armitage I'd stick with also, he looked great heading for 100+ until he copped a knock in round 1. I'd give him another round or two in case he's been hampered by that knock and will get better. He's not gaining much, but he's also not losing much, even if he...

    Trades before round 4

I'm not sure what the right way to go in the backline is. Simmo back to what you'd expect with a 97, I'm still worried his 150 is a mirage and 95 is his baseline. Yeo a shocker, not going to be pickable for a while now. Hibbo better role but still only a 92. Hurn going well but doubtful he...

    Trades before round 4

Burton, a pre-season gamble from a one-eyed Hawks supporter, is gone. Replaced by Richards. Will then use that cash to go up from Bradshaw to a cheaper midfield premium option. Looking at Macrae, Gibbs or Lyons. For some reason I just have this nagging concern in my head about Gibbs so not...

    Round 3 discussion

Was looking at 2300+ heading into Sunday but ended up with 2158. Disappointing to end up with Dusty's 93 as captain when I had two 150+ scores who should have had the VC. Probably only 1 trade to make this week, unless both Ryan and Greene miss. Although may end using the 2.

    Round 3 discussion

Pretty happy I elected not to go with Bonner. He'll have 1 decent price rise after his round 1 effort but he looks like he might stall or get dropped which was my concern. He was only on 21 at half time so 68 from there wasn't that bad.

    Round 3 discussion

Keen to see what Martin does today against a ruckless Port. Might be losing 15+ points a week if Martin can't start pulling out some really good scores. Would like to see 130+ today. 110+ would be the minimum.

    Round 3 discussion

If I had a luxury trade this week it would have been Martin to Grundy. He looks to be the top ruck this year whether Cox is there or not.

I'm actually surprised there's been no mention of Acres. Been waiting a couple of years for him to break-out. He has looked awesome both weeks, including last week when he scored 90 in a game where the Saints got demolished. You'd hope that will be their most uncompetitive game for the year...

    Holiday Planning

That's sounds pretty reasonable. Titch seems the best C option and will allow you to choose next week. You don't get much time between Dusty and Olango to decide though. The trades are ok. Bear in mind you will have the cash sitting there for 2 weekends, although next weekend you might still...

Giles-Langdon out for a month with a broken hand. Trade to Ryan looks tempting

    Trades before round 3

Barlow was an emergency round 1 but got dropped from the emergencies week 2. Played in the NEAFL on the weekend and named among the best. But with the side winning and some decent names on the emergency list already he might not get a call for a little while

He'd have to be locked in at this stage. Can't see his role/opportunity changing much from here, Wilson and Williams aren't coming back to steal his points. It's only 2 rounds, but the defenders are scoring well overall. Currently 25 players averaging over 90 and 9 averaging over 100.

    Draft league?

I like that suggestion. I had a shocker this week. Forgot to check my team after teams were named. Hannan, Tucker and Z.Smith left out. Ben Reid a late out. My waiver claim never made it on the field for Docherty either. Absolute mare!!!!

Not sure Sicily will get suspended for that, partly Jelwood's fault for pulling on his leg. Going to be hard to say how much resulted from him pulling the leg and how much that affected his knee dropping. Personally, if you're on the ground and grab someone's leg you deserve what you get...

    Trades before round 3

My question for now: - Is Ryan a must-have rookie? Worth a trade from a "plugging along" rookie with softish JS like D.Fogarty or Barry? Or an expensive one who's not hitting the heights like A.Brayshaw or LDU? I would have said Fogarty, but he got interviewed on the field after the game on...
