Not sure what to think about Greenwood. He had centre clearances almost every game he played last year, so must have had a decent amount of mid time. Suns have a broad range of mids, so not convinced they got him for a midfield role. No doubt he scores well and only needs 20 touches to post...

Concerns for sure. Then you read Naismith will definitely play preseason and round 1 and is ready to help the midfield, so presumably playing as #1 ruck. At $251k.... I'm currently working out what an extra $446k will do for me....

    2020 Begins

I scrolled straight past him and didn't even consider him. Nearly fell off my chair when I saw him in 49% of teams. Injured or not, his possession and tackle numbers match every other season outside of 2018. And his scoring was dreadful. Similar possessions to 2017 but kicked it more, and we...

Not touching. No way he gets an inside mid role like he had 2018. Wing/flank/forward he'll average sub-90. Last year in that type of role it was sub-70. Just not enough at that price to make it worthwhile for me. Even absolute best case of 90 means barely $100k gain and still a trade to upgrade.

I agreed and blamed his shoulders for his drop. However, compare his 2018 & 2019 stats. They're almost identical. Disposals, kicks, contested possessions, marks, TOG, DE%, metres gained - all equal or better in 2019. So why was he worse in 2019? Less goals, goal assists and score...

Thumb surgery for Heeney. No contact for a month but should still get right for round 1. Hard to pick him now.

    2020 Begins

Maybe at lower level for sure. But yet to see it at AFL level. His stats to date aren't very supportive with just 1.05 CM/game, much less than comparable guys like ROB. He's on par with Tim English and nobody's rushing to stick him at CHF. In fact, his stats are remarkably similar to English...

    2020 Begins

Getting Ryder makes zero sense to me. He's a quality tap ruckman, but doesn't contribute a lot around the ground beyond what most ruckmen can do. He's a terrible forward, almost a liability up there with poor defensive pressure. His best return in his career is 1.2 goals/game. Jenkins has...

    2020 Begins

Kelly gone. Duncan and Jelwood injured-hampered preseasons. Danger is going to be carrying the midfield to start the year. A must-have it looks like. Also means opportunity for others. Problem is the lack of clear options and it might be a role that evolves as others gain fitness. Menegola...

    2020 Begins

Parish looks good, but he's a bit expensive for what you're getting. Be keener if he was closer to $400k. Not going there currently, but watching. Reckon there's a lot of potential cheap buys at Carlton. Dow, O'Brien, Stocker are all sub $300k and will be watching them in the preseason...

    2020 Begins

I've heard mention previously Gray will never again spend large chunks in the midfield, too much strain on his knees. Boak is good. Rocky seems on the outer and his disposal provides little in the modern game. Wines attracts it like a magnet and kicks it like a fridge. What they desperately...

    2020 Begins

Maybe but that was only a month. At the end of that run he was at peak price $615k, his only 2 weeks of the year priced over $600k. He finished off the last 10 games with an average of 102 — that will sting if you do have him. There's so much information around, it's impossible to get sneaky...

    2020 Begins

I'm not touching Whitfield at this point. I don't pay attention to where they will finish in their line, just their starting price. For me that only matters later in the year. I try to start guys who'll be top 10 in their position for sure, but don't care if they're a clear number 1 or not...

$296k. Value for sure. As mid-only hard to justify giving him a spot over the premiums and rookies available this year. If only he was a Def or Fwd...

    2020 Begins

Maybe, but his only game was in a walkover. Just 1 tackle, DE 63%, TOG 66%, most of his his possessions uncontested. He did some great things for sure, but reserving judgement until after preseason games and round 1 teams are named. For me - Grundy, Gawn, Macrae then go from there.

    2019 Finals Discussion

I should point out, I don't know if it's his fault. It's well recognised they lack speed, whether that's lack of development, recruiting, injuries or lack of insight is difficult to know. Clearly culture took a hit with the camp last year, again I don't know if he's to blame for that. There's...

    2019 Finals Discussion

I picked 3 out of the 4 winners. Missed on the Lions, who were probably not that far away if they'd kicked a bit straighter. Whilst it's tempting to go for GWS, I think the Lions will bounce back. I think the Eagles will win the other. Cats really struggle if the opposition midfield is on a...

Reckon he'll outdo JOM's first year of 90.1. This might be the last time we see him under $500k....

Another point on Rocky, played only 60% of JLT1 but had 20 CBAs for a meagre 49 points. Role - tick. Points - yuck.
