    2017 Midfield Primos

I quite like the Jelwood pick. I was interested in him last year because I thought Danger might take some pressure off him. Jelwood played with a buggered hand half the year (from memory) and still went pretty darn well. I know he has a reputation for starting a bit slow but I'm giving him a big...

    2017 Ruck Cover

I reading plenty of Ryder love here and in the forward primo thread. Certainly has the ability to average well enough for F6 / Ruck Cover role but here are the games played for the last four years her played: 2015 - 18 games 2014 - 20 games 2013 - 17 games 2012 - 15 games Anything make you...

    2017 Backline Midpricers

You'll have to explain the "put up the numbers in the past" bit to me ... I might be missing something? Are you saying that he has previously averaged back line keeper numbers in the past? Because looking back that doesn't seem to be true. Highest season average in the past 10 years of 89. A lot...

    2017 Backline Midpricers

Well hope, yes. But so many seasons get derailed by people going for el-cheapo could-be-premiums in the back line that you want a bit more than hope. If you have a strong lead that one of them is going to be playing a my SC relevant role they could be OK. But from what I've head Hartlett's drop...

    2017 Midfield Primos

Yep I have given some serious thought to Libba. I reckon very good chance he goes back to being a proper premium second year back from the injury. There are other safer options at higher prices but if you were looking for someone around that price he's probably a good option. Similar price to...

Nick Vlastuin is moving from the back pocket to the midfield for the Tiges this year according to multiple sources (including Nick himself in a video). In a different year - if there were less genuine backline primos available - you might consider him. Could be the Jack Newnes of this year (Jack...

    2017 Forward Primos

He's been able to do the fitness work and reports are pretty positive: http://m.sydneyswans.com.au/news/2017-01-25/buddy-on-track-for-big-2017 If you're keen on him I don't think I'd let it put you off, unless he suffers a setback.

    2017 Forward Primos

I tend to agree. Dollhouse and Macrae were my first two picked. I do think there is a good chance of some of the KPF being top six this year (Lynch, Buddy, JJK) but because they tend to have higher ceilings and lower floors than the M/F types there seems more chance to pick them up at a...

    2017 Midfield Primos

Sounds fine to me. If you start Beams / Heppell you hope would be for them to become a keeper. Beams could conceivably be worth it as a stepping stone but Heppell has to be a keeper if you start him. So that is effectively 5 midfield keepers to start and depending where the rookies are available...

Hard to argue with your logic M4TT. Hibberd's ceiling is clearly not high enough. On exposed form KK has the potential to be a back line keeper in the future but I'd have to see a demonstrated turn in his form ie. multiple home and away season 100s before I'd actually put him in my team.

Aaron Black. 137K, rookie price. If selected R1 I will pick him.

    2017 Backline Midpricers

Really only two who I'm prepared to consider: Hibberd - about 400K, a couple of years ago there were folks lining up to pay 500K for this bloke (great deal that turned out to be o_O) and he was spoken about in the same breath as Simpson. Now you can't get any takers at 400K. Will surely...

    2017 Backline Primos

Doc - 591K, still grinding my teeth over this guy. Had him two years ago and he was frustrating. Let him run against me last year and he broke out. 591K is a fair bit to pay for a guy who has only had one big season. Simmo - 578K, I've never liked this bloke much and it hurt me last year as he...

    2017 Ruck Cover

Been looking at the numbers a bit more over the last 24 hours. Ryder has a couple of years where he averaged about 100 and another couple where he avaerage 90. I reckon anything from 90 up is a win at 415K given that he also provides ruck cover if ... massive if ... he plays close to the full...

    2017 Ruck Cover

With 211 looking like being a pretty popular pick at R2 many coaches will be looking at ruck cover right from round 1. Of course those who took TBC a year or so ago as ruck cover might think of ruck cover as a highly overrated concept. Anyway ... Ryder - just over $400K - would need to score at...

    2017 Midfield Primos

Probably should have mentioned Tom Mitchell in the same section as Treloar and the Bont. Maybe Zerritt as well. Presume most will be steering clear of Neale with Fyfe coming back?

    2017 Midfield Primos

Danger, Pendles - very high priced and for good reason. Most will be starting one to ensure a good VC / C option. Is anyone taking both? Or leaving both as upgrade targets? Jelwood, JPK - high priced very consistent performers. Both with not-completely-justified reputations as slow starters and...

    2017 Forward Primos

Early days - prices have been out for ages - but SuperCoach site not yet open unless you had a gold subscription last year. Still the addiction is strong so here goes: Dahlhaus - looks a solid 1st pick in the forward line Macrae - looks a petty good 2nd pick Those two look the clear top picks...
