Really torn on Libba. I can turn him and Hall into any premo on any line, plus a rookie. Or I can go cheaper and bank some cash with 1 trade remaining. He has to go clearly. But if I keep Hall then it means playing Petracca and Clay Smith both on field while I'm waiting for someone else to get...
Shaw, Laird, Bartel, Dangerfield, Selwood, Hanners, Goldy, Stef, Martin, Wells, as well as Libba and Hall who I'm undecided on. So 10 premos left. I think from memory on top of that I started with Fyfe and Rocky as well.
1679/15. Danger C. Laird, McVeigh (or Collins), Hanners, Parker, Neale, Petracca, Lynch to come. Disappointing returns from Selwood, Bont, Libba (who was killing it), Simpson and Wells, who were all outscored by a debutant ruckman. Hoping for 2400.
With the lack of mids and big bodies in the Dogs midfield, I'm hoping Smith plays more of an inside mid role over the next few weeks. He definitely played a lot further up the ground in the second half last night which accounts for the better scoring. Dahlhaus will probably be the same. Reckon...
He did but all 3 emergencies travelled as well. The official line is that rain is expected so they may go in with one ruck instead of 2 or go for bigger bodies instead of pace.
You wouldn't think they would name McVeigh and fly him across the country if he wasn't a certainty to play.
From a SC perspective it's going to be hard to do anything with him in one trade. Will be priced around 390k. Might have to wait and see how things play out over the week but I can see myself having to put Libba and one of Hall or Collins together to go for a big fish for week 1 of finals.
His ankle got caught in a tackle and bent back on itself. Apparently it's called sydnemosis or something, Its the same thing Marc Murphy has. Best case is 4 weeks but he will be lucky to play at all again this year. Shocking luck for the Doggies. He was clearly BOG up til that point too.
Ok ground report... Cold but not too cold. It may get dewy later but seems ok for now. Patchy drizzle around earlier but it's holding off at the moment and has for the last 2 hours or so. Dogs said on MMM before that they will put more effort into Danger than last time. Selwood for a sneaky VC?
Just about to head there. I'll let you know in halfa! We had a little drizzle a couple of hours ago, expecting a little more tonight too. Greasy conditions without being wet. Very similar to last week against Adelaide.
The only way I would be doing it is if you have must win league games this week. If you're safe in the top 4 Then don't worry about it. If you're 5th (or 9th) and can push up then have a crack. Keep in mind that a LOT of teams will be burning 2 trades this week because they have no ruck cover or...
The boys spent a little bit of time on this on the podcast. You may gain 80 points over the next 5 weeks. What happens if (for example) Goldy is rested for a week or two and you have no cover and no trades? You lose 200 points in 2 weeks. That's a much bigger deal than picking up 80 points...
Haha thanks. There was some dumb luck behind it but some solid reasoning too. I picked Smith as a loophole R3 in the hope that if Stef went down or was rested that he would be getting a game at some stage. Completely forgot that Trent West was on their list when I did it but the logic behind it...
I want Zerrett because he doesn't look like slowing down, which I thought he would. I won't do it in 2 trades though. Lynch highly likely to come in for me.
Will hurt for anyone who has both McVeigh and Boyd.
This is the reason I'm trying to avoid any injury prone or older players with the last few trades. Buddy and Roo look like great side swaps for Deledio (can't get to Zerrett in 1 trade) but Lynch looks like a safer pick even if he has a lower...
