Hi Grater. I've been looking for any decent Fantasy TdF and can't find any.
I don't like the set-and-forget types. What if you lose a rider in the first couple of stages? Or, as happened with me 2 years ago, you lose 4? Your team is stuffed as you can't replace them.
But if you're looking for a set-and-forget one have you tried Velogames Fantasy Cycling: https://www.velogames.com/
Very straightforward.

I don't think so, @doddy2731 . We can't find any decent fantasy comp.
SBS and RCUK ran the good ones and neither is running a comp this year. None of the others are worth it, imho.
Do you know of one?

As for another option i wouldn't know where to start.

Probably a long shot for you guys as you don't live in Melbourne, but if anyone wants to join me on the evening of Sunday July 9 for a TDF night hosted by my old high school buddy Baden Cooke (won the green jersey in 2003) at a pub/restaurant in Mornington, get amongst it. $35 for dinner, no obligation to eat, just have a beer and watch the stage. He says it's the 'first major mountain stage into the home town of AG2R'. If you didn't know, he's just started up his own bike (together with another guy) called Factor, and AG2R will be riding their bikes this year. He is hoping Bardet can win the tour, as it would be crazy good for his business, obviously. Bardet's about a 20 to 1 shot, maybe even a little longer. Cookie reckons with some luck, he can win it, but he's certainly more hopeful than confident. He did finish second last year, so obviously no chump.

Yeah as good as impossible for me, but sounds like it would be a great night.

@keffa
Too far for me to travel, unfortunately, as almost 2,000km. Would have loved to be there.
I noticed Cooke was an owner of the AG2R bike. I'd never heard of the brand Factor before, though. Pretty impressive to get a TdF team to use it in their first year. I also noted that the TdF bike costs a mere $15,490.
Good luck to him.

Yeah they're definitely targetting the top end of the market. Cookie never does anything by halves.

Here's another one at Eurosport.

3. Selecting your Team

You will build your fantasy lineup from the teams and riders participating in the event. Your team will consist of riders from 4 specialist classifications:

  • Marquee Riders
  • Sprinters
  • Climbers
  • Domestique Riders

For the Marquee riders, sprinters and climbers; you must select 1 rider from each of the subcategories (Category A & Category B).

Riders are categorised as Category A & B based on their historical performances with the most successful riders being classed as Category A.

The remaining riders of your lineup will consist of 3 riders from the Domestique classification (there is no Category A or B riders in the Domestique Classification).

Your final team of riders will look like:

  • 1 x Category A Marquee Rider
  • 1 x Category B Marquee Rider
  • 1 x Category A Sprinter
  • 1 x Category B Sprinter
  • 1 x Category A Climber
  • 1 x Category B Climber
  • 3 x Domestique Riders

Selection Restrictions:

Each rider classification comes with its own selection restrictions:

  • Marquee Riders (2 to be selected)
    • 1 Category A
    • 1 Category B
  • Sprinters (2 to be selected)
    • 1 Category A
    • 1 Category B
  • Climbers (2 to be selected)
    • 1 Category A
    • 1 Category B
  • Domestique Riders (3 to be selected)

Incomplete Teams

  • Any teams that are incomplete at the start of the race will autofill

Changing your line-up:

  • Prior to the commencement of the race, you are able to make as many changes to your team as you like.
  • Once the race begins lineups are locked and you will be allocated 3 transfers to make changes to your team up until stage 15.
  • Transfers must be made between riders from the same classification and category, for example:
    • A Category B Marquee rider must be replaced with another Category B Marquee rider.

Not me this year, sorry. It's too much work for me to keep having to choose riders. I just don;t have the energy this year.
But good luck to all.

So finished the Tour in a reasonable possie, it was a tough format to get your noggin around but pretty happy where I ended up.

Well done, doddy.
O might give it a go next year - if you can explain it in a reasonably simple way. Too much for me this year.
